Extreme Cold Weather testing on Mount Everest

Not just a spectacular photo, but one of the many real life environments where customers have taken our products to serve mission-critical applications.

So while we quote compliance with industry standards, including IP54, IP55, IP65, IP67 and MIL-STD 810F, our claims are supported by the reliable performance over extended periods of our products in environments well known to destroy less rugged ('merely toughened') portable computers.

Understanding the Environment

When taking a computer ouside as a tool, you need it to survive in that environment. We work with leading board developers to address the design of the motherboard, but our primary concern even there is to ensure the computers electronics will continue to function when taken out of a stable office environment and subjected to the rough and tumble of the outdoors.

Because our key concern is "survivability", not the latest fad in desktop computer aesthetics, you'll experience a very different end result from Opentec.  For this reason, we're a preferred supplier of rugged computers for many Australian and overseas commercial enterprises, as well the Australian Armed Forces.

Why? Because they understand that computing power is of no use when the computer itself doesn't survive the environment it's being used in.
