Why Opentec?Opentec designs and assembles ruggedised notebook and tablet PCs, UMPCs (ultra-mobile PCs, or mini-tablet PCs) and PDAs. We also cuctomise these products, as well as create cutomised mounting systems, such as for motor vehicles and boats. We also create integrated, portable computer-based systems, such as secure, embedded WiFi solutions, situational awareness solutions, and biometrics collection and verification solutions. We also resell a select range of computers and accessories from leading manufacturers that help create application-specific outcomes. But we're more than just a supplier of COTS and MOTS grade computers. We're the only Australian rugged computer supplier that is ISO 9001:2008 certified for both manufacturing AND design processes. We're the only Australian computer solutions developer proven capable of creating ultra-low emission designs that meet the most stringent ‘Ground Army’ EMC levels required for military grade ‘Electronic Warfare’ systems. We're also the only Australian rugged computer supplier that meets IPC-A 610 Class 3 requirements for PCB assembly and inspection, which is a requirement for products where continued high performance or performance-on-demand is critical, equipment downtime cannot be tolerated, end-use environment may be uncommonly harsh, and the equipment must function when required.
