Established in 1992, Opentec remains the only Australian designer and manufacturer of rugged portable computers and portable computer-based solutions. Since becoming part of Inventis Technology (a division of Inventis Limited), Opentec has expanded its range as well as undertaken significant joint R&D activities with a select range of strategic partners, to create world-class deployable solutions for a range of industrial/commercial and emergency services/military applications, where durability and reliability are paramount. Since 2005, Opentec has been establishing a renewed market profile, with new print and electronic media campaigns helping to reaffirm our position as a true, value-add solutions provider, not just a reseller of toughened 'executive toys'. While our core business is the design and manufacture of top-end rugged portable devices, our overall goal is creating solutions that take 'high value-add' and mission critical applications into the field, and keep them there. From active service roles in Afghanistan, Iraq and East Timor, to emergency event support roles in Sumatra and the Solomons, to coastal mapping and security support roles around Australia and the Pacific, the reliability of our products is renowned as being second to none.
