Australian Army 'Project Parakeet':
Making battlefield communications more reliable through superior ruggedisation

Project Parakeet is one of several 'front line of defence' progams Opentec has been involved with. Getting its name from the small Australian parrot renowned for being very talkative, this project involved the supply of portable notebook PCs that control the mobile trunk radio systems used by field infantry for mission critical strategic planning and tactical level control systems.

Yet again, Opentec computers were the only product trialled that passed the Australian Army's very stringent field and lab testing programs.
