'Series 5' Intel Core2 Duo models now available:
After successfully completing months of field trials, the new Series 5 Industrial and Mil-spec range of notebooks (RPCs) and tablets (RPTs), powered by Intel Core2 Duo CPUs, are now shipping.
The Series 5 RPCs (Rugged Portable Computers) are available with 15" (XGA or SXGA) LCDs, or 17" (widescreen WXGA) daylight readable LCDs. All models have optional resistive touchscreens, as well as Mil-Std 461E ultra-low emission electronics packs and Mil-spec connectors.
The Series 5 RPTs (Rugged Portable Tablets) are available with 8.4" VGA or XGA touchscreens, with Hi-Brite extra-bright daylight readable LCDs, as well as Mil-Std 461E ultra-low emission electronics packs and Mil-spec connectors.
New features include:
- Faster (read/write) SATA removable HDDs (up to 160GB capacity)
- DDR2 RAM (for faster access)
- integrated front handle on all 15" and 17" models
- removeable PCMCIA chassis for custom PCMCIA cards
