New in 2010: Opentec Launches feature-rich, competitively priced Rugged & Semi-Rugged Range
January 2010

Opentec, Australia's original rugged computer supplier, has recently added four feature-rich portable computers. They deliver varying levels of physical ruggedisation to meet a range of application requirements and user budgets.

"Our reputation with heavy industrial, coastal patrol and ground army and strategic command users in Australia is unmatched," commented Opentec's Strategic Marketing Manager Bruce Lehmann. "However, with many competitors offering cheaper products claiming to be 'rugged', we decided to respond with a new range that incorporated the features that helped established our products as benchmarks for durability and reliability, but which were priced to meet the budgetary constraints of commercial, industrial and government customers who didn't need such extremely high levels of ruggedisation."

"Our newly expanded 'I&E' range addresses a range of durability and functionality needs, as well as offers outstanding value for money."

"Starting with a compact, Semi-Rugged 7" widescreen UMPC, moving through to a range of Semi-Rugged and Rugged tablet PCs, and on to Rugged notebook PC with a swivel LCD (something many users asked for), we're delivering on the promise of durability in the field AND at a competitive price but WITHOUT sacrificing reliability, build quality or computing performance."

"In addition to keeping costs down, we've also addressed key user concerns such as extended battery life, vehicle mounting systems and the ability to customise to meet very specific needs. The fact that this company has been delivering rugged computers to Australian customers for more than 15 years says something about our ability to deliver on a promise to mobile computer users."
