Multenet 'EtherPAD' Converters

Give 'dumb' serial devices an IQ!

Use DUO & DIO to give your serial/analogue device an I.Q. !

With no PLC programming, or software development, or software installation needed, the DUO and DIO represent two of the easiest ways to monitor simple devices using email and SNMP. They're ideal for:

  • computer room door sensors
  • thermostats
  • intruder alarms
  • fire protection systems
  • water pressure switches
  • pump systems
  • generator systems

If you have an SNMP Manager, you simply load the custom MIB, and receive traps when the status of the attached serial device changes.

Features:

  • RS232-to-Ethernet or RS232/422/485-to-Ethernet (RS) models
  • 1 or 2 Serial Port versions (all with single RJ45 Ethernet port)
  • 10/100BaseT auto-sensing on the LAN (Ethernet) side
  • External 240VAC power supply or DIN Power Rail adapter options
  • Simple browser-style configuration interface for serial port setup with password protection
  • Small format aluminium housing
  • Low latency (wait states)
  • Able to communicate with multiple PCs (up to 50 concurrent user sessions), making it
ideal for remote monitoring or service applications
  • On-board software can be unloicked using an encryption key (purchased with unit or at anytime thereafter), and includes options such as data-logging, Modbus bridging and routing, SNMP MIB creation (see DUO & DIO datasheets for more options).

The EtherPAD Serial-to-Ethernet & Digital-to-Ethernet device server range features ruggedised casings and enhanced features ideal for a range of industrial or "power user" applications. Using the ARM 7 processor, these devices are available with external (10-20VDC) or DIN Rail (10-30VDC) power options.

EtherPAD Duo

The EtherPAD Duo raises functionality from ‘serial device server’ to ‘smart device server’ by allowing users to create customised applications with he easy-to-use SANscript scripting language. The Duo has two serial ports, both supporting RS232, RS422 and RS485, with a 10/100 BaseT Ethernet port for network connectivity. The Duo also supports (as an option) advanced Modbus Bridge functionality, Routing and PPP.

Software included: EtherPAD Explorer, SerialAnywhere
Software options: SANscripter, Data Logging, PPP (remote dial-in/out), Routing, Modbus Scripting, Modbus Bridging

EtherPAD DIO (Digital I/O)

The EtherPAD Digital I/O (DIO) supports all the DUO features plus adds digital I/O functionality, which allows the sensing of both digital and analogue inputs. DIO lets you remotely monitor and control analogue PLUS digital signals using custom scripts. With these scripts you can program the device to send email alerts or log data to a file or an html page. You can also visualise the I/O status via a web browser or SNMP manager.

Software included: EtherPAD Explorer, SerialAnywhere, SANscripter
Software options: Data Logging, PPP (remote dial-in/out), Routing, Modbus Scripting, Modbus Bridging
