Based on the ARM 9 processor and a Linux operating system for superior reliability, the PocketPAD range features low latency (ie wait states) and a choice of Twisted Pair and Optical Fibre serial ports.

PocketPADs are Serial Device Servers (or Ethernet-to-Ethernet adapters) that allow any device with a serial port to be connected to an Ethernet LAN for remote monitoring or control. Devices such as Security Systems, Industrial Process Control Devices, or Staff Attendance Clocks can simply and quickly be connected to an Ethernet network and be monitored from a PC or even multiple PCs.
