Overview

Ask yourself why, after a decade, the Australian Defence Forces continue to manage battelfield operations (BCSS - Battlefield Command & Control System), mobile artillery control and battlefield trunked radio communications (Parakeet) with the 'EW' rated 'Openfire' Series RPC 13-M. The answer is simply their superior reliability, superior physical durability, superior modularity and customise-ability, and superior 'ultra-low' EMC performance characteristics.

With heavy duty, fanless, Magnesium Alloy chassis that features sealed drive bays with removable, cannisterised HDDs and DVDs, a long life battery, an optonal second battery for extended operations, a sealed 100% waterproof keyboard that's so durable you can park a truck on it (we did - for 4 days in fact!) and a heavy-duty screen hinge designed for years of faultless operation, the RPC 13-M makes most other vendors' claims about ROI look a bit feable!

With a choice of 1.66GHz or 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo CPUs, and Windows XP Pro or Vista operating systems, the RPC 13-M features a 13.3" XGA or optional SXGA LCD, optional 500NIT 'HiBrite' LCD for applications where use in full tropical or outback sun, and an optional touchscreen (ideal for 'command & control' applications).

Options include a backlit keyboard, integrated GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi, 3.5G/3.75G (UMTS/HSDPA), custom DVI port (in place of standard DVI), as well as additional serial (RS232 or RS422) or custom ports (space dependent).

Superior Lifetime Support:
For military users looking for a product with a long life cycle, that will be supported well into the future, consider that we've manufactured RPCs since 1999, and that we continue to support units that have been in active service since 2001!

‘Super Rugged’ rated:
Wat more can we say: try parking a 2.6 tonne 4WD vehicle on any other vendor's notebook computer.

ADF approved for use in Secure Networks:
We are the only supplier in Australia delivering an ADF 'trialled and approved' notebook computer with integrated FIPS140, Type 1 and Suite B capabilities over short, medium and long haul wireless (802.11b/g) links for the ultimate in secure field networking.
