Opentec RPC 13 Series
Notebook PCs with 13.3" LCDs

Overview:

The RPC 13 Series notebook computers deliver superior durability for a range of ultra-heavy duty commercial, industrial and defence applications; whether on the ground, at sea or in the air.

Used by maritime surveyors, ground army groups, railways, commercial surveyors and farmers around the country, RPC 13s have established themselves as benchmark products for nearly a decade.

More:

Ask yourself why, after a decade, the Australian Defence Forces continue to manage battelfield operations (BCSS - Battlefield Command & Control System), mobile artillery control and battlefield trunked radio communications (Parakeet) with the 'EW' rated RPC 13. The answer is simply the superior reliability, superior physical durability, superior modularity and customise-ability, and superior 'ultra-low' EMC performance characteristics the RPCs offer - and have led the market in for a decade.

With heavy duty, fanless, Magnesium Alloy chassis that features sealed drive bays with removable, cannisterised HDDs and DVDs, a long life battery, an optonal second battery for extended operations, a sealed 100% waterproof keyboard that's so durable you can park a truck on it (we did - for 4 days in fact!) and a heavy-duty screen hinge designed for years of faultless operation, the RPC 13 Series makes most other vendors' claims about ROI look a bit feable, especially when you consider some RPCs have been in active service for more than 6 years, and many for as long as 9 years!

The NEW SERIES 6 RPCs now come standard with a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, and Windows 7 operating system. They also offer a choice of 13.3" XGA or SXGA LCDs, as well as optional higher brightness (500NIT) LED backligting (recommended for use in tropical or mid-summer sun). They also offer optional touchscreens with the industry leading 'ULTRA' brand integrated 'ultra-hardened' touchscreen overlay.

Options also include a backlit keyboard, integrated GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi, 3G (UMTS/HSDPA), as well as custom DVI ports (in place of standard DVI), additional serial ports (RS232 or RS422) or custom ports. Optional drive/CPU/LCD pre-heaters for sub-zero starts, as well as Mil-Circ power and data connectors and MIL-STD 461E ultra-low emission electronics packs make these notebooks one of the most highly customisable platforms available for teh serious professional needing the ultimate in rugged computers.

Superior Lifetime Support:
For military users looking for a product with a long life cycle, that will be supported well into the future, consider that we've manufactured RPCs since 1999, and that we continue to support units that have been in active service since 2001!

'Industrial Rugged' and ‘Military Rugged’ ratings:
It's as rugged as they come, with units supplied to the Australian Defence Forces having delivered 5-plus years (on average) of service, with less than 1% failure rates, even in active service roles! In roles requiring lower levels of ruggedisation, they've delivered best-in-class operation in high vibration, high dust environments where reliability is paramount.

True 'Military Grade' performance:
For us, 'Military grade' doesn't just mean a product that passed higher levels of MIL-STD 810 testing. It means a product that was designed to serve in active combat or other defence roles in the field - and has actually earned its stripes doing exactly that. It means being fitted out with options that ensure the unit will operate in extremes of temperate, ambient light, vibration, dust and moisture that go well beyond what other devices will tolerate. This delivers the added assurance you need when selecting a notebook computer for any military, heavy industrial, mining or field application where exceptional durability is paramount.

'ADF approved' for use in Secure Networks:
As you'd expect, we are the only supplier in Australia delivering an Australian Armed Forces 'tested and approved' notebook computer with integrated FIPS140, Type 1 and Suite B capabilities over short, medium and long haul wireless (802.11b/g) links for the ultimate in secure field networking.
