The RPT is not a 'convertible notebook' with a swivel screen, but a compact, rugged tablet computer, that offers notebook performance in a device you can easily hold in one hand. They're used to control diesel electric locomotives where they've endurede years of use in high vibration environments that shake other computers apart, are used aboard small Navy pursuit and surveillance craft where they get drenched in salt water and other computer products have literally drowned, and help keep police and emergency service patrols on-line in the field. As with the RPCs, their fanless Magnesium-alloy chassis design with superior dust and moisture resistance, plus top-end mechanical crush and vibration/impact resistance, means their durability and reliability is PROVEN BEYOND COMPARE!
With a choice of 8.4" backlit LCD ('Openfire' models) or 10.4" backlit LCD ('Panther' models), and Intel Core2 Duo ('Series 5') or Centrino ('Series 4') processors to suit your application requirements, plus a comprehensive array of mounting and connectivity options (including GPRS, Next-G and wireless LAN), the RPT comes in either 'Industrial' or 'Military' versions; with the 'M' variant including MIL-STD461E "Ground Army" (Electronic warfare rated) ultra-low emission electronics, which offer better EMC characterisitics than any other 'toughened' notebook on the market.
